Swiss League: 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012
Swiss Cup: 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2010

They haven't lit Europe alight but they've done far more than we have, and have done far more to deserve entry to a European super league than we have.

Hardly any teams are breathing down those three when it comes to the rich list, but i really don't see how that's relevant at all...

It's the Swiss league ffs, hardly high on the Eufa coeficients list I'm sure. Who cares how many times they've won it. I mentioned the rich list as Imo that would be a large influence on which teams would be invited, G14 etc etc.

It does when you're making a European super league. There's no way they would keep Basel out and include us, it's madness to think so.

Yeah, Motherwell get into the Champions League preliminary qualifiers where they will most like get smashed. Hardly comparable to a team who has won their domestic title over and over again in the past 10 years and reached the last 16 of the Champions League this year.

Whether we would win the Swiss league or not is irrelevant. If we went by that logic then Apoel Nicosia never would have gotten into Europe, never mind the Champions League.

We're not talking Champs League, we're talking Superleague. There would be nearly half as many teams. Including Basel would be madness, irrespective of our inclusion or not. I reckon the 7/8th team in our league would easily be better/richer/bigger/any other metric you care to mention than the top/2nd/3rd team in the, 10th, 11th? best league in Europe at best. If there was one team from each country they'd still be lucky to get in..

You're on glue !

City
United
Chelsea
Arsenal
Liverpool

Would all get in over us. Might as well call it the Premier league if you add any more. We wouldn't be anywhere near the thing.

You're right about this. Prob really could only have 3 from any league in it i reckon....

IMO any European super league would include at least one team from each of the following leagues:

-Germany
-Switzerland
-England
-France
-Spain
-Italy
-Portugal
-Holland
-Belgium

It's all speculative anyway...

We manage to fill a 40,000 seater most games.

9 league titles, 5 FA cups and arguably the inventors of 'good' football.

Yeah, I would say that we're pretty big.

I brought up this hypothetical super league as a way of accessing whether or not we are a 'big club". The idea is that if we would be in the super league, than we would be a big club.

Therefore, the way I theorized it, they would invite Europe's 20 biggest clubs, regardless of nationality. You simply figure out - who are Europe's biggest clubs.

However, if such a super league was to really happen, we all know they would look to spread it all around geographically - hence Basil. Thus, any "real" superleague would probably include a Basil over us, because they would look to sprinkle in some other countries than add a 7th English team. But if they were to just blindly choose the 20 biggest clubs, I don't know if Basil gets in over us. This is not to say we are one of Europe's biggest teams. Just that Basil if probably no bigger than us.

Inter Milan
Juventus
Napoli
Marseille

Speculative ofcourse, but that's half the fun.
Imo you'd be looking at 3 from the top leagues: Spa, Ita, Eng, Ger.
2 from the next tier: Fra, Hol, Por
1 each from: Bel,Den

Then you have leagues like Tur, Gre, Swe, Nor, Swi under that...

According to the list I saw, we are in the next group after the top 20, and for several years were between 20-25...
