Unbelievable! give him 50k and if he improves then go back to the table in a years time.
Unbelievable indeed. That report comes from a newspaper that tells more lies than Boris Johnson and is shunned by all newsagents across Merseyside.

….reports he’s stalling on signing a new deal as he wants £100k per week.
Tbf it's the easiest negotiation his agent will ever have to do. The club turned down at least 45 million for him. So the club value him at over 50 million but don't think he's worth 100k a week?

He has three years to run on his existing contract mate, which is buttons, so that mitigates and a compromise should be struck. So essentially he gets a decent bump in the sort term, or runs the risk of sitting around for a couple of years or so on very little and the club cash in anyway. Club have a decent hand here.

That is the flip side of the conundrum the club are in, when they briefed heavily they would turn down 50m or whatever.
I think it more to do with the actual structure of the deal, Chelsea only wanted to pay something like £20m upfront and the rest on the drip and we wanted more upfront. They kept increasing the amount to get us to sell but were still only offering £20m upfront.
