He's the best academy product since Osman, Rooney or Barkley, that's not an indication of him being good it just shows how crap our academy is. He'll never have a career here really, he's just here because we're too sentimental as a club on top of the fact that we're down to bare bones 5 games into the season. The fact that Kenny is still here and why Davies has played 150 games for us. They all leave for free after their contracts expire.

We've only made about £5m in total on selling our academy players since 14/15 and have not produced a single player good enough to start for us in that time, that's a disgrace.

Always see him playing from the left trying to cut inside, running into a man or producing a poor shot. We’ve also got Iwobi and Gray in these positions so he’s going to struggle to get in.

There’s a big hole on the right for someone with pace to run at the line and cross balls in, which I’m sure he could do. Probably over simplifying things and maybe he has in training and he’s just not good enough, but why doesn’t he try for this? He can also still score goals from there which he seems desperate to do

this is going off previous games, luckily missed the cup game so not sure how he played

Great Post
What the hell are we paying theses so called expert youth coaches? Why can't they see what the fans can see, these lads mentioned will never make it in a top team

As always you need to grade the younger players on a curve

He's not going to tear it up every single time, but whenever he has a good game like he did Tuesday then it has to be considered "job done" for the time being

All he can do is make the best use of the minutes he gets in order to stake a claim, and he's doing that at the moment

We need to stop being so eager to talk down and cull the younger players if they aren't Messi every week. He's showing promising signs and made good use of his opportunity

We've got to be better as a fan base when it comes to the younger players. We get the club we deserve at the end of the day. If we want the better younger players to succeed then it starts with the fan base having the right attitude and getting behind them, not looking for excuses to tear them down at every opportunity

Look at how many wrote off DCL for instance

Its probably because we are set up as an "old boys club", old players everywhere, state of the art facilities with dinosaurs running it. Everything seems to slow down, stagnate, when the youngsters get picked for the under 23's, what has really come through since Unsworth has been in charge ? Yet what happens they promote him, reward him for failure. Why hasn't Brands sorted this out, surely it is within the DOF remit, where is our ethos, our identity. Gordon you can see the skill, the promise, but when he broke through last year did he look ready ? No I don't think so, he looked terrified at times, meek. Tbh when you see the liverpool youngsters come on they look ready, ready to battle.

That is the saddest post Ive read in a while. That is the sort of comment that needs to be put the board, the youth coaches etc. Shocking.

He's okay. I hope he gets more chance to prove himself, with Iwobi being inconsistent and injuries to key players.

I don't think our academy has produce anyone noteworthy since Barkley, even then, he didn't reach the heights people expected.
I'm in no position to comment about how things run in the academy, but I think youth development is extremely difficult, especially with our first team pathway is usually blocked.

Don't know what it is that doesn't quite click for him, he works had, got pace skill and seems to have decent feet but he doesn't really do anything.

I don't think he's bad, he's 100% deffo at football than the likes of Davies and Kenny but he needs to work on his final product
