Gordon himself implied that simply training with the first team, a faster pace, is more beneficial to him than being with the U23s.
He can train with the first team and still play the u23 matches if he isn't going to be on the bench even for the first team.
 

If he doesn't get decent minutes over the next few days it is probably best we look for a January loan and get him back playing in the u23s for the time being. The worst thing to do with a kid on the cusp of breaking through is to have him go a month without playing a match for no real reason.
 
With Iwobi injured he should definitely be on the bench. Hopefully get half an hour against Burnley and if he impresses maybe another run out against Newcastle. Need to see of he can save us a fortune in the window.

Who's idea was it to set things up where the reserves don't play?
 

Why do people think he'll start? Has he even been on the bench for Carlo yet?
