So Victor played last night, now I love it how Moyes went for the attacking option and we didn't defend from the start.

However I would much rather see someone like Gosling or Rodwell in the team, or even the unproven striker who I can't even spell Juk____.

Until Webb didn't give him 4 free kicks he just kept falling over, he produced a good save of Reina and crossed the ball, however in the first 10 minutes he got the ball about 7 times and fell over 4 times. He then went down for the penalty, yes maybe it wasn't a dive, but then the way he went on to the referee which meant the whole team switched of for the Gerrard goal.

I don't mind him, just would wish he would stop going down like he was a sack of patotoes!

How can you criticise Vic on last nights performance is beyond me, he took the game to them from the off, made some great attacking runs, almost got us a pen and produced a great cross for Tim in the 1st half which we almost scored from. An excellent performance from him

good game for victor last night, stay on your feet though lad as you are getting a reputation and the chances of you getting a decision are decreasing with every fall. they are expecting you to go down as well so take advantage of that and stay on your feet, barge through and glory shall follow.

Well, in the game that I was watching, he won most of the headers, easily brushed pass defenders, was manhandled for the penalty, had a great shot on goal and almost an assist.

And I haven't even started to talk about the fact that he ran back, and operated on the wings when needed, and made most of the right passing decisions - though good passes were at a premium last night

My only complaint was when the ref didn't give the call, he should have got on with the game.

It was his best game for the club for a long time and confirms in my mind that he has a future at the club, footballing wise, he can up his game, as he has proved time and time again, but maybe not always as quick as we want.

At the moment we want a Drogba or Yak, he ain't there yet, but he's on the right path.

I was impressed with Victor's tracking back in this game. at one stage he ran down gerrard and hussled him out of possession.

Showed the potential last night. The way he just bashed Squirtle off the ball and made the chance before falling over just shows what he can do.

He just needs to start getting tutored into being Victor Anichebe and not Yak or Drogba etc. Learn from them yes, but he next season he needs to start being his own player and cut out the falling over.

A striker with more experience would've cut inside on that chance so the defender would've had either left him or give a peno away and slid it home.

He's 19 and caused the a defence that doesnt let many goals in problems....

I've always maintained that if he gets it to his feet he can ge good at holding it up and turning his man, he done well last night but pisses me off the way he cheats. Penalty claim for example, just [Poor language removed] shoot earlier.

Vic was great last night he gives the opposition a lot to think about, for me the only flaw in his game is his finishing, im not sure he will ever devlop that but he will tenderise, hassle and occupy defenders.

I see him as a similar playr to Heskey the type of player regular goalscorers like playing with a good return from Vic woul dbe 8-10 goals a season.

Instead of watching videos of other players he should be his own man and Drogba is hardly a role model.

His technique I think he was watching him for, his movement in and around the box. Drogba is top draw, [Poor language removed], but brilliant.

ive held my tongue long enough about anichebe.

to be honest i was amazed so many people said he had a good game after the match.

i havent argued a case becouse i thought perhaps i missed something while i was caught up in the occasion.

but my honest opinion during the match was that he didnt track down ,plodded along lazily while letting runners go , his ball control was erratic/clumsy and he fell over way too easy.he didnt cross well while out wide and didnt have any decent shots on target when in the middle..... so i really cant see what the fuss is about his performance.

in fact i think osman had to work especially hard to make up for anichebe's lack of tracking back and poor positional play.

im not saying im right , but thats how i saw it during the game.

,

He chased the ball alot, won it twice in good areas, one where he had a chance on goal, and another where he was fouled (not given by the ref)

plodded along lazily while letting runners go ,

He's an attacker, and he still defended more than the likes of Saha or Yakubu

ball control was erratic/clumsy and he fell over way too easy.

Has some great touches, his passing was fine, and he took on a few players in some instances, he got past most, just lost hte ball on the final player

he didnt cross well while out wide

He had 2 crosses, one went to Cahill (who got a corner) and another came off Hyppia to go for a corner

didnt have any decent shots on target when in the middle.....

He was barely in the middle, and who did have decent shots on target? He had to play with his back to goal, thats the type of player he is, he gets the ball, passes and runs, unfortunatly he didnt get many balls to run on to
