Anichebe

ive held my tongue long enough about anichebe.

to be honest i was amazed so many people said he had a good game after the match.

i havent argued a case becouse i thought perhaps i missed something while i was caught up in the occasion.

but my honest opinion during the match was that he didnt track down ,plodded along lazily while letting runners go , his ball control was erratic/clumsy and he fell over way too easy.he didnt cross well while out wide and didnt have any decent shots on target when in the middle..... so i really cant see what the fuss is about his performance.

in fact i think osman had to work especially hard to make up for anichebe's lack of tracking back and poor positional play.

im not saying im right , but thats how i saw it during the game.

Did his best work out wide during that match. Personally, I dont rate him either. He definitely cant lead the line, has no anticipation whatsover and, for someone with his physique, makes no impact on the opposition.

I dont rate him either really but think last night he was very good. All our best stuff came from him and he won his fair share of headers

i remember the shot and the cross early on and remember the penalty claim.

thats 3 things , he almost set up a goal for cahill -but didnt, almost scored - but didnt , and almost got a pen (wasn't a pen)- and didnt .

he almost had a good game then .:D

btw , im not having a go at anichebe .
i thought the whole team played there part.
i just didnt notice performance the same as everyone else.

have to give me a break on this one , there was a lot to take in :)

I have to admit Anichebe looked a lot better last night. The derby may have up his tempo somewhat which he dearly needed. Almost goes without saying man of the match in Setanta's eyes and mine was Jags. It was a great game from Baines too I thought I hope we don't trade him for out of favour Shorey.

sorry fella , i dont understand the question ?

"he almost set up a goal for cahill -but didnt, almost scored - but didnt , and almost got a pen (wasn't a pen)- and didnt ."

He set up a good cross for Cahill, who didnt score but Vic did his job well. He had a cracking shot which Pepe saved, but Vic did his job well, and made a cracking run into the box and almost got a pen, which the ref didnt giv but Vic did his job well

So in all 3 incidents Vic could do no more really and he couldnt influence the other 3 factors, ie Cahill missing, Pepe's save and the Ref not giving the decision

Don't forget he won the freekick for the goal as well. Ahem.

not sure if he won it or benajoun handed it to us . lol

liverpool fans are going mad about benajoun and skrtl over the goal (spelling ??) , they really hate kean too.in fact , liverpool hate there whole team apart from gerrard.

i dont know , my main memory of anichebe was him getting the ball around the d a few times and him getting the ball tied up in his feet and losing it.
also there were a few times he lost the ball out on the right , the liverpool player would run towards the middle with the ball and osman would cover loads of ground to track him while anichebe stood still.

like i say im not saying he anichebe played bad and it was all like that but there were moments like the ones i mention where i thought he could have done better.

anichebe played much better after liverpool scored imo.
