Anichebe

Full tilt ive been impressed mate, seems signing his new contract hasnt done him any favours, to be fair he makes defenders work and makes space for others - he will never score more then ten a season - but i think he has his uses. I thought he was terrific in the first derby this season.

If someone offered me even money on Vic scoring 10 Prem goals in his entire career (from this point on) I think I'd wager a significant amount against that happening. Actually, he has 7 league goals now, I'd still take the under on 10 for total career Prem goals.

Anichebe, has not been right since the horror tackle from Nolan, I thought he showed so much promise 1/2 years ago and can not understand what has happened.

Maybe he will start to show the promise he once had, We all know you never loose that talent let us hope next year Victor will be banging in the goals again.

Keep the faith he is better than Barlow and Vaughan were at similar stages of their career.

I don't like this targeting of Anachibe He's just scapegoat for a bigger prob. And I thought we wanted to encourage Scousers at our club - because he is one, came right through the ranks How is ****ging him of going to help him, or even help Everton get a decent transfer fee? And the lad got a real bad injury due to that nob Nolan, Target him!

Seen the exact same thing happen at Celtic and Rangers when they are struggling. Pick out a young local player and blame him. Let yet highly paid foreign imports off the hook. Who amongst us thought Victor would be a key man for us this season? He is only playing (and he rarely starts) because the stars have let us down. But hardly a peep about them.

Lay off him. Hes only 20, had a bad injury and playing in an under performing defense minded team. And its sad the only boost to his confidence this week will come from his call up to the Nigerian squad. And he ain't even Nigerian - he is Scouse

I'm just saying.

I'm just saying.

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion mate, so never be discouraged by some posters.

Mine is that I don't see what benefits he offers to the team. He is not a regular goal threat nor a game changer, he does however like to fall over at even the slightest bit of contact..

I would not be disappointed in the least to see him go.

Emile Heskey, but without the skill, desire, goalscoring prowess or strength.

In summary, Lenny Henry on methadone.

I dont single you out Warzycha, but I detect an under current of racism in all ths targeting of Victor. Yobo got it too. Ok he wasnt the best, made some howlers - but when he did an element of the support went after him with a venom they would not for other players who made the exact same mistake. They get "bad luck jags" and the like.

Yobo's just been named Fenarbache's player of the year. Not bad given he has only been there six months.

Why Lenny Henry on methadone, not Michael Barrymore? He actually is.

I wish he would show, just once this season, why Moyes still rate him. He's clearly got the size and build to make an impact but instead of using it he chickens out and goes down easy. Granted he's homegrown and all that but it's been some time since he's shown anything like the heart and passion we get from Osman and Hibbert. I'm starting to feel like we could use the space Big Vic takes up to slot in other youngsters who deserve a chance to prove themselves.

Mostly I fault Moyes for this though, with so many injuries and poor performances he should've taken the chance on numerous occasions to rotate in someone fresh, or just mix things up a bit.

I'd love people to list all these games that he's shown promise in, because frankly, he's living off the back of two decent games before his injury. But what about the crap before that? It sort of suggests that the crap since is actually the norm, doesn't it?

People refer back to Fellaini saying I gave Fellaini a chance why not Anichebe, but that's because Fellaini could control and pass a ball. Victor can't do either of those properly.
People may refer to the fact that I always defend Osman, but Osman is skillful, industrious, has determination and his only issues are due to his slight stature and physique. So the boxes Ossie ticks, Victor doesn't and vice-versa. If you put Ossie's brain in Victors body, you would, 100% have a top top international player.

For those that see something in Anichebe, I applaud you, either you're seeing through the veil of sh*te to something I don't have the intelligence or footballing knowledge to see or you're deluded enough to just blindly back anyone as long as he wears an Everton shirt - either reason, I am envious, genuinely. Not only that, but I pray the kid comes good. I want to be 100% wrong about him. I want someone in 12 months time, to bump this post and ask me to eat my words, because Anichebe has solved all our striking problems. But I doubt that will happen.

I've seen Anichebe run flat out and been genuinely impressed by his pace, only to see him trot for the rest of the game.
I've seen him knock a big centre half on his *rse only to see him get knocked on his *rse himself by a small full back.
I've seen him score some good goals too, but not for a long, long time.
He is Heskey with no talent or passion for the game.

I can't understand why a 22 year old lad with everything to prove clearly feels that's not the case.
Does he stay behind after training to work on his headers? Or his ball control? Or his passing? Moyes puts him out wide a lot - does he work on his crossing?
Or does he come in, do his training and leave?

When Phil Brown was at Hull and offered us £4m for him, why did we not snap his hand off?
To those who defend Victor - what do you think he's worth? More than £4m?
I'm sure there's a lad playing in the Championship who we could get for less than £4m with more talent and more commitment and passion for the game than Victor.

Yes, I'm clearly racist because I believe Victor Anichebe is no better at football than Lenny Henry on methadone. Why Lenny Henry and Not Michael Barrymore? Err, well, because he resembles Lenny Henry more than Michael Barrymore perhaps...

Am I also a clear racist because I am desperate for us to get the Yak back and think that Sylvain has had a great season so far?

You tell me.

Just because Victor is black does NOT mean he is exempt from being targetted as inept.

I didnt say you were a racist. But there is undoubtely a racial element to a lot of this criticism. And I dint single youout , said so. Im just reading all the post from lots of folks and can see a thread running right through them, Of couse you can criticise, he has been dissapointing , crap even. But I ask why the criticism is so disproportion for a young guy who cost us nowt, has never been a regular, still aint, and has been seriously injured? We aint always this unfair when a players is going through a bad patch. But - and I quote from others "he is the worst player ever to put on an Everton Shirt" , Christ there is even another thread running on this form demanding a petition to get rid of him. A petition? Do we not save these sorts of thing for Kirkby or getting Kenwright out?.

And crucially I think is the fact that Victor aint just black, he is Scouse black - one if us. Liiking stary black foreigners is easier - they are foreign, know they are dont live here werent brought up amongst us. Unlikely to stay here when they retire

And more positvely - dont you think Victor is something of a role model for all the young black kids im Merseyside who support us, even those who dont?. Went to Victors school? But he is in your eyes and others useless - worse than useles, one of the main causes of all our problems. So bad we need a petition to get him out.

I aint accusing anyone of being some sort of overt racist with some conciously evil intention. Im just reading what people are writing and asking folks to think of what they are saying, how they are saying it and its effects. And perhaps ask themsleves why they are expressing an understandable frustration at Vic's performances in this way?
