Angus Kinnear

  • Leeds United's CEO Angus Kinnear played a key role in prompting the Premier League's investigation into Everton, which has resulted in a provisional 10-point deduction penalty for the Toffees.
What the hell.
I'm hearing the words, "blood sacrifice on opening day"

FWIW I knew his Dad Alan, who was an audit partner at PWC. Daddy was a dour, humourless, Kirk Scot but competent, hard working and honest. Leeds fans do not rate him but fans rarely love club CEOs who put up prices and do unpopular but lucrative sponsorship deals. Angus’ communications with fans and media at Leeds have a definite David Brent whiff (there are YouTube videos if you are sad enough to check them out).

Given his history trying to shaft us I personally think hiring him would be a significant misjudgement as he’d be carrying so much baggage from day one. Hopefully it is just paper talk as we’ve been previously linked to guys from Brighton, Fulham, Brentford just from memory.

They will have used some search agent, so if this guy has come out on top via that process, fair enough and I'll reserve judgement.

At least it's not the old boys network. Interesting his push for punishment with us. Colin Chong might not hold the door open for him on his way in.

This isnt a director of football. Probably has less say in transfers than most realize. He is to run a club and bring in the money. Regardless, I want a ceo who doesn’t give anything to other clubs. We tried to be the nice club and look where it got us. I want someone in there ruthless.

Assume he done good with finances or summink ?

Much to recommend him over Chong ?

Chong has been fantastic for us.
But he's very much tied to the Stadium and I wouldn't be surprised if he's got a new contract elsewhere to slot in to.

For all his fantastic credentials, he also doesn't have a football background.

Should be remembered fondly and if the Friedkins think there is a role for him, I'd love to retain him, but think he will move on.
