You can only play the level you’re dealt. Aussies have had Guus Hiddink, Pim Ver Beek, Terry Venables.. much higher profile managers and not won anything.

Ange can take an unfashionable team and get them firing. If you look at his record its superb.

He's actually a very good manager.

First post - South Melbourne won 3 league titles in 4 years. Won the Asian Club Championship and took the team to the World Club Championship. Earned the nickname 'Roarcelona' while at the Brisbane Roar. Won 2 more titles. Made two more grand finals while at the Melb. Victory. Took Australia to 2 World Cups and won the AFC Asian Cup.

Just won the J-League.

He has done enough to earn a shot in a European league, but think Everton, and the epl in general, is too big a step up based on his experience. I can see him going to a top team in a second tier league like Greece, Holland Portugal etc and cutting his teeth there before looking at one of the real top leagues.
I like him and hope he continues to do well, but the jump is just too big atm.
