Sorry for your loss mate. Look after yourselves.Evening fellow Blues. Andy is my uncle and he leaves behind my aunt, 2 daughters and 2 sons. I dont post often, but felt I had to on this occasion to thank you all for the kind words. Andy was a down to earth, humble fella with a wry Liverpool sense of humour. He never made a fuss. Everton was always his club, although Watford was probably the club at which he is most remembered as their number 1 GK in the 70s. I knew about the European Cup shoot-out but never knew he was in a Toffees team that won 4-0 across the park. Typical of him...never ever made a fuss or felt anybody at Everton owed him anything. He loved Goodison and I am very proud that he was my uncle, but even prouder that my fellow Evertononians acknowledged his contribution. From all of us in his family. Thank you.
I was there when he saved that penalty against Borussia Monchengladbach. Bedlam!Evening fellow Blues. Andy is my uncle and he leaves behind my aunt, 2 daughters and 2 sons. Aye, 1964, I was there. Our scorers were Harvey, Temple, Morrissey & Pickering. Not bad with 3 Scousers scoring for us and another one in goal (not sure if Labby played that day?). Andy would have played more often but Westy was first choice for about 8 years. Regarding the Police connection, I think he'd been a cadet with Liverpool City Police. RIP Andy. XYes he was also in goal the day we beat lpool 4-0 at anfield
He had a blinder early on RIP, ex police cadet who forced his way into the first team past Gordon west on some occasions - he went on to play for Watford -Yes he was also in goal the day we beat lpool 4-0 at anfield
Moggsy got the 4th as the Kop emptied, we went with a weakened team - Andy made some great saves early on of that game ....RIPAye, 1964, I was there.
