He could have said nothing though, it could be worse he might even believe what he said!

He might,he played for us but he isn't an Evertonian. On a personal level he could very well think Kenwright is decent.

Have we reached the stage where a player is to be derided because he said something positive about someone we don't like?
Hardly the crime of the century and frankly, I think it's good to hear the opinion of a player who has been on the inside.
And, I think he's right, as much as Kenwright has overseen an awful period, he is still a true supporter who only wants the best for us.
Townsend probably knew he would get some flack from fans for saying what he has said, but he said it anyway. Good for him.
He's entitled to his opinion and good luck to him in the rest of his career and thereafter.

I don’t think he said anything that controversial: he didn’t praise him as a businessman or a chairman and he didn’t say he should stay. He only really spoke about his speech to the dressing room last season (which by several accounts went down well).

Like most of us I want Kenwright gone but I just don’t have the energy to spew hate at someone just for saying one positive thing about him. He’s not a good chairman and he’s selfish for not departing sooner, but he’s not Hitler.

He's not said anything out of line IMO. It's been his experience of Blue Bill.

We all know he's a fan and a lovie. But Andros did make the point that...under Koeman, Ronk wanted Klassen as his number 10. Walsh wanted Gylfi, and Blue Bill wanted Rooney.

So it peels back another layer that whilst he's a big blue etc...he's still a terrible chairman and these past few years or decline show that

He did his ACL ffs. And he wasn’t sat on his arse for a minute longer than the medical staff told him he had to be, he was working it off to rehabilitate, which is all you can ask of an injured player. Some people need to grow up.

Wonder how many nice countries he visited while in rehab.

I’m a fan of the guy and wish him luck. It’s a shame about the injuries (or maybe a blessing in disguise so he couldn’t paint over Frank’s cracks), and he was very professional. Lovely bloke. He is a journeyman here so he doesn’t understand the Kenwright lore. Forgive him.

Don't know he did/didn't say about Kenwright, but he ran his wotsits off in first season + scored some important goals.
