Any news? I know he's missed over a year, but I'm beginning to wonder that if with all the incomings we need to do over the summer this year, offering Townsend one more year might not be the worst idea in the world provided he's fit.

There is absolutely no sign of him being even remotely close to returning to light training, I’m not sure the fella can even walk, he is 32, no he isn’t getting a new deal.

I’m pretty sure he hasn’t been seen in training since then, which would suggest that he is still actually injured or has been re-injured.

Nah, he's awful, mate.

Would never wish an injury on anyone so feel sorry for him in that respect, but it's not like his being fit would have helped the relegation battle; he was proper frustrating when he was fit.

hasnt played in a year and a half, was slow even before he broke his knee and was never very good.

Feel sorry for the lad. Never nice to see a player leave after a bad injury, but it's the right call for the club.

I feel bad for him too. Enjoyed watching him play early on. Can't do anything else about it though, hope he's able to play somewhere.
