Yeah out of all the players yesterday who to put there, he'd have been last on my list. He kept popping up on the right and in the way of Gordon as well.

Who else do you put there? Iwobi(who is worse than useless)? Gray is better on the wing same with Gordon. He was there to tuck in and make us solid as a three in midfield as much as he was for his creativity. He has discipline.

I am liking Townsend. Puts in a good shift defensively and attacking. Can whip in some wicked crosses (no-one available to take advantage of at the moment). Even on an off day he still provides something rather than being totally absent like others

I don’t recall there being much excitement tbh. Frustration and fume possibly. Then the realisation that he was much better than expected and some very decent performances. That might just be me though.

The midfield has been a donut hole, our CBs have been a dumpster fire with Mina out, and the out of shape corpse of a Chinese league striker has been filling in for the best attacking header of the ball in the league as the target up front.
I think there will be some reversion to the mean for Gray and Townsend but let’s see what happens when we get players back.
