Andrei Kanchelskis appreciation thread

We played them together too rarely iirc. I think Royle worried they did not do enough defensively to play both together. Two cracking, skilful and pacy players.
The Kanchelskis signing killed Limpar,And it was just about the time Limpar probably started feeling comfortable...

Royal should have gone down the Kendall route with 2 attacking wingers, but opted instead to push Hinchcliffe to left mid because of his crossing.

Alex Ferguson won title after title by having good attacking wingers who put ball after ball in the box....Royal should have followed suit.

Limpar in the Spurs semi was ace.

I loved Limpar . He has plenty of nice things to say about the club . I will always love Warzycha more but there's no doubt Limpar did more for the club .
Did we sell Beagrie to pay for him ?

Well Mr. Flashman, you have probably noticed that there are a few of you who agree that Andre was as good as Yuri Gagarin &
Lev Yashin, we will always argue about who is best etc. Now Then! there's a name, please don't tell me that Andre would be
allowed on the pitch when this man played......Pure Genius.
You can save all your Wows for one post. I don't rate Neymar as being World Class, I don't think he is fit to lace Bales, Messis or
Ronaldos boots, he wouldn't shine brighter in the Prem than Drogba, Aguero, Silva or indeed Cantona.
Also Klopp will be stealing money from Barca, when Coutinho eventually signs, Coutinho is a phony who will soon be found out,
he can't look up before he shoots, after his sideways run he never passes, he can't curl the ball with the outside of his foot, so
his goals come from a blast or a right hand post curl.

I don't believe that for one minute you've never read something so silly on this forum.
As for a comparison, I cannot remember Paul Holmes finishing someones career, and I can't remember him passing to Whelan
and losing the FA Cup to the RS.

I can't even imagine Paul Holmes in a cup final.

And as for stupid comments my point stands. Comparing Andrei to Radzinski in any way is insane

I didn't see your post because you didn't quote me , I don't really see the relevance of your reply to be homer mate , I mean not at all .

Because he wasn't as good a player as goal keeper as lev yashin then he was the same level as radinski ? I genuinely can't follow that logic , it doesn't make any sense well not to me. From memory I think I watched pretty much every game that season and he was stand out superb , just a joy to watch . Tommy Rad wasn't a bad player but he was pretty much around average in what was for the most part a fairly average Everton team. I don't see how anyone whose watched them could compare the two .

Kanchelskis could , in my opinion , push for being one of the best Everton players I've seen in his position in my lifetime . I not suggesting he'd get it but he'd be on the shortlist . Whilst Tommy wouldn't .

It was really weird that because Royle said Limpar was the most talented player he had ever worked with and then proceeded to never play him before shipping him off to Birmingham of all places.

Everyone was ace in the Spurs semi to be fair.

Kanchelskis was boss. Such a shame he left so soon and in mysteriously low-key circumstances. That Derby performance was outstanding, tore them up a new one for the first time in a lifetime. Remember being bladdered on karaoke in the alehouse (The Newsham Park) after the game and replacing the lyrics to the Pet Shop Boy's "Go West" with: "TWOOO-OONNNE, WITH-OUT FER-GUUS-ONNN".

The link below ain't Everton like but it is undeniably cool.

His acceleration was immense. You can be fast and defenders can play you a certain way but his ability to stop then hit full speed again quickly destroyed full backs. The fact he could shoot with both feet, cross and head a ball well means he was a class above anything we had.
