Can’t understand the hate in the match thread. He did very well, knitted that midfield together barely lost the ball and moved it forward. We were noticeably worse when he came off.

Once he realises Allan and Doucoure have got his back he should be more forward thinking with passes.

He looked a lot better today, he was instrumental in the opening 20 minutes when we dominated play. Tired towards the latter stages of second half but thought he had a very good game overall.

Yep. When Siggy came on, quality dropped off.

Look at the difference when he has legs around him. Having Doucoure and Allan winning the ball allows him to focus on creating and finding space.

Crazy the levels of stick he got a few months ago. He was playing in a League 1-standard midfield and was only a few months removed from an horrific injury. Is going to be a big year.

Totally agree, but he must stop playing backwards and sideways. He can be more direct in his play

When he gets back to his top level our midfield will be a monster. He’s still quality.

He did well well today. As soon as he was replaced by siggy, our Connectivity dropped off. Siggy only passed it backwards or lost the ball. He hasn't got the ability of gomes on the ball to be sitting in front of our back four. It scares the life out of me when Siggy receives the ball so deep, one turnover away from giving away a goal.

Anyway, gomes was class today, like the rest of the team.
