Some good moments and passes but he's as mobile as a combine harvester , add that to extreme clumsiness and poor fitness, it's a recipe for disaster especially later in games.

You can really see with Gomes is that hes good when he has energy and legs surrounding him in the other midfield players, but poor when the only other one is Tom "I Wish I Could Turn As Fast As The Titanic" Davies.

Given space he's a decent player. Still not sure he's suited to the English game.

Mixed bag. There was a moment when he drove and I just thought carry on and he backed off I actually think its partly mental with Gomes he is a pure confidence player he is much better than he is showing

Gomes was sound tonight , better with legs around him.

With Doucoure beside him on Saturday against a team that don't press like Newcastle, Gomes I'm sure will look like a world beater. As mentioned already if he has legs around him and isn't under pressure he looks classy.

Got knocked off too easily at the start but I thought he improved as it went on.

Well he tried to take it under control didn't he - his spilt-second thinking was to try and chest it and snap at it on the half-volley it seems. He just didn't position himself right.

It's tough, came to him quickly but a goalscorer anticipates that. He isn't a goalscorer. Still think Dom's was the better chance given he very much is a goalscorer now and he had done the hard work in getting up to it.
