I honestly don’t know how to feel , I feel dirty trying to sign him yet disappointed he doesn’t want to come . I’m conflicted on so many levels .
Standard Everton I suppose .

You can put blah blah blah about injuries but it still doesn't change the facts. He's really struggled with injuries plus if he's an England striker he's decent and didn't go because he's been injured but I'm sure that doesn't fit in with your argument I guess. All our striking options are bad considering the only one tried worth keeping is DCL. I'd also say that the need for a striker was not because DCL is classed as poor it's because if he gets another injury we're knackered. I would actually say our strikers have hardly been given any chances by our very poor supporting cast of midfielders and wingers who don't appear to be able to make any chances in open play other than the odd worldy from outside the box. All I say is give people like Simms a chance whereas you appear to have already decided he's not up to the job despite not being tried.I don't get your first sentence?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin isn't a terrible striker because he would have gone to the world cup?
But he didn't go, because he's a very very bad striker who's got 1 goal this season.
He's been injured bla bla but he's still played about a dozen games and come up with 1 goal.
All of our striker options are bad, hence why we NEEDED a striker in the window, hence why we have scored the least goals in the prem bar maybe wolves ( who signed a few strikers to fix this )
Mate your arguement is the bad one.

My main point is (which I think got lost somewhere through this discussion trail) that we should be giving Simms a chance rather than chucking him onto the scrap heap like so many others before he's really kicked a ball for us in anger. I get the comments about DCL but he's done it once so why can't he regain that form, who knows playing as a two upfront which I think he might have done maybe a handful of times and a bit more service he can get somewhere near that again. Let's face it other than bringing in players now who no other teams wanted (Ayew and Isco) our front line isn't changing anytime soon.Calvert lewin is one month away from 26. I look at him and all i see is someone who had a 4 month purple patch under Ancelotti and lucas digne assists. Yeah although supplying strikers is ideal you also want one who can create themselves and also bring others into the game with assists aswell. He doesnt do any of the latter. He didnt before Ancelotti and he hasnt post Xmas under the same manager. His whole career has more or less been aug-dec in 2019.
We have so many issues. One of them is the lack of movement up front. The likes of marcus bent and andy johnson offered more.
He needs a constant supply of crosses(digne being the proof) to use his head. Which is possibly his only strength. But all that means is its such a limited option.
Calvert lewin is an issue. But sadly he's about one of a dozen issues.

Absolutely baffling. I tried to work out how they could make it work and I can’t see it, they have a couple underage but that’s it.There’ll need to be some new signings left out as well. Out of their 37 man squad, 28 have been signed this season. If Ayew signs it’s 29 new signings.
Agree what saying about ayew but feeo isco and kruse both still playes at s high level. If we dont i accept the resdons why just feel we have to take a chance on somebodyMy main point is (which I think got lost somewhere through this discussion trail) that we should be giving Simms a chance rather than chucking him onto the scrap heap like so many others before he's really kicked a ball for us in anger. Just as long as we don't revert to "building a team around him" again, he's really not worth that sacrifice.I agree. Somehow dyche has got to get this team crossing into the box with him at least having the chance to attack it.
Depressing even typing that knowing how limited that is.
