How do we know simms isn't ready? All I know is he bangs them in anywhere hes on loan and we ain't exactly loaning him out to the conference and then he gets a couple minutes every 5 games when here.

I'd like to see him start and end a couple before making that judgement.
Agreed I think under dyche he'll be given that chance in the 4-4-2 once he sees that maupay isn't the answer (unless he is and starts banging them in for fun?).

Don't get why people make out he's like a mini haaland, his goal return is very ok.

21-8 in league one
17-5 in Scotland ( terrible )
17-7 for Sunderland is a good return.

Think he's decent me, he knows how to score and I'd back him over DCL and maupay to finish, doesn't mean he's ready though

It's a bit embarrassing if we are going for this lad.

We have youngsters like Simms (who's been scoring in the Championship) not getting any minutes, but we want to go for a semi retired 33 year old with a beer but who's been released from a pub league...
Being embarrassed won’t be the problem if we have a couple of injuries or suspensions

The Scotland one wasn't terrible - he started 11 of those and was very good for the type of football they play. Join 2nd highest scorer on the team I believe - they weren't exactly scoring goals galore lol

How can you back him to finish over DCL and maupay and then say he's not ready? Plus I don't think anybody thinks he's a mini haaland just worth a go because what we've got is not doing the job it's paid to do.

We lumbered on for ages with Dom up front on his own miles before he was ready. Admittedly it may have ruined his body, but he ended up in the England squad. Get Simms on the pitch. Our players are never ready, and even if they are, we wouldn’t know as too busy saying they aren’t.

It’s a massive accidental gamble, but if we somehow scrape safety this year the squad will be leaner and the finances in better shape than they have been for years. That’s what the team need to fight for.

Time to stop thinking what could and should have been this window and crack on.
