He simply fell out of favour completely. Kanchelskis was the preferred choice for Royle in Limpar's final season, and he barely got a game. Think he played twice or something and then was let go; his contract was about to expire anyway, hence the low fee.

I found it bizarre at the time, he went for 110k if im not wrong....him and kancho were world class on their day....which was often.

For me, Mirallas is direct like kancho and pienaar is similar to limpar in that he does everything but score

All totally different players but all very effective in their own way.

Left at 32 for birmingham 110k....then released after 4 games for them and then won the championship in sweden for AIK.

Still, youre not usually finished at 32...ive just always wondered why the fee was so low and was shocked at the time.
