There's a right and wrong when it comes to the bleeding obvious. A manager holds badges - he isn't an ordained priest. If he can't sort out corners, for a clear example, it isn't outrageous to take him to task.

Way too many fans prepared to genuflect rather than to question. And that comes from someone who is prepared to give the bloke lots of leeway.

.....but imagine if he was held accountable by fans to that level, it would be anarchy. Lots on here complaining about corners (including me) but imagine him being challenged about selecting or substituting certain players and then other fans disagreeing, it would be ridiculous. "Don't play Barkley, Bobby", "get £50m for Barkley, Bobby", "Barkley's a genius, Bobby, those saying sell him are f'in stupid".

The most useful thing for R M at the moment, in my view, would be for him to be reminded that supporters are not necessarily jerks and may have opinions that are worth hearing.

@Eggs is quite right to point out that there are conflicting views over a whole range of issues but there are some areas which are so blindingly obvious that a child of ten could point a finger and say, "that's crap" - and be right.

I don't buy in to the extremes of fan micro management or infantile "What's your favourite colour?" type engagement: sensible questions & points of view with direct, honest answers ... though honesty is a commodity very few if any football clubs can afford.

Yes, let's cancel training and all go down Finch Farm in our thousands and demand to be let in.

We can then sit Bobby down in the canteen and tell him that results haven't been good enough. He'll be absolutely perplexed: 'But wasn't a draw at home to Hull phenomenal enough lads?!'
'No Bobby, mate' we'll say as we surround him ISIS style.
'What about the record points total?'
'Err shut it Bobby, la'

We can then write down all of our tactical suggestions on a napkin ('maim Osman', 'don't sign that McCarthy fella') and he'll scurry off, grateful to have been blessed with our tactical wizardry.

No brainer.

True. I was never suggesting a meeting where the fans produce a list of improvements which they will expect, nay demand Martinez to address. But there would be nothing wrong with being able to stand up, like Question Time, and ask if Bob has noticed our poor corners and why it persists.

It would also give us a bit of an insight into how it all works behind the scenes, which much foster a bit more understanding of how hard it is to be a football manager.

This thread cheered me up, when you think this forum cant get anymore bizarre!!

Lets sack the manager and let us fans take turns picking the team

Football is all about opinions so people always see things in differents. Alot of the time you wont agree with someone but thats just it.

Lets keep the opinions and arguments to the pubs n the forums and let manager do the job he was chosed to do. He wont always do what peoplethink is right but if he was that perfect a manager he wouldnt b managing us

Yes, you're probably right. It's worked wonders for us over the last God knows how many years.

Yep - we think we know what we're on about, when in reality most of us are clueless.

not totally clueless, we know what we see, but sometimes we don't see everything with a view to the bigger picture, here we may get into Rumsfeld's known known's and unknown known's etc etc

But it would be, lets say interesting, nay illuminating to talk to him, in the restaurant or in the kitchen at parties and play...right here's the back 4 ( moves salt pepper and 2 empty beer bottles ) now what it....
