Our family has a story like that, too. It involves my Gramps, a bottle of liquid HEET (misapplied), a box fan and ice. Same dialogue, but different reasons.

Not a family member, but some HEET, long days at the track meet, and some Freshman that wasn't paying attention to bored upperclassmen more or less produced the same story a few times.

I have a new affection for Montana and Nevada that I didn't expect. Plus, Missourians seem like the right kind of people. And I'm happy with how Louisiana voted, seems about right.

I think @ItsOKImAPilot is from there. And @wm02 as well, but I'm not sure he's around any more? I don't have any strong recommendations--the good places are usually hard to get a table at and DC is hard to get around, so look for good places near you, but you can find good food there. I have a co-worker who lived in DC a while, I'll see what she recommends. If you're there on matchday, there's a DC Toffees group that meets at Fado in Chinatown.

Not my town, sorry I can't toss a couple of winners in. Chesapeake Bay is close by, so I bet you can find some good seafood especially crab cakes, if that's your thing... I've been in Tampa this week, so I've been knocking out the great Cuban food here. Ropa Vieja for lunch at Teresitas today, washed down by an Ironbeer.

Also try Oyamel, which is right off the mall. Incredible Mexican food--a bit pricey, but excellent. Try the grasshopper tacos. Jaleo, as someone said, is also great. Zaytinya is also very good (Mediterranean) and right near Jaleo. Founding Farmers is a trendy farm-to-table spot. Often crowded and decent.
