Kale can be delicious.

Can't preach the gospel of collards out of one side of your mouth and hate kale out of the other. Sukuma Wiki is a fantastic Kenyan dish with kale that I highly recommend.

Now that's out of the way:

I just eat the collards, RB. And the turnips, mustards, or spinach. it's all good. I've tried with the kale, honest. The [redacted] things just don't break down for me.

I know one place where I will eat the kale, but this guy is so much better than I am in the kitchen it's just silly.

Fair play.

I avoid the collards in the kitchen myself. I'll leave that for the experts. Kale is just an easy target these days because of it's healthy image.

Trust me, oil and a wok with some ground beef and loadsa spices? Turns out any old thing can be made to sing.

Are Redskin peanuts the same as 'normal' peanuts ?

Yes. The ones you see have had the naturally red skins covering the nut shaken off along the way in processing.

In some places (especially down south) some folks like the skins left on.

My favorite peanuts are still boiled up in a big roadside iron pot along some south Georgia highway. So salty. So hot. So good.

Sounds lovely.:) are there lots of varieties and styles of cooking said peanuts ? All we get is salted.

That's just one stand, just boiled. Let a thousand flowers bloom. We can buy them green by the sack and boil/roast them ourselves. It's not rocket science. They grow them commercially all around the place north and west of here.

Daddy loved roasting peanuts. The day he jumped out of his chair and ran to the kitchen yelling "my nuts are burning" is immortalized in Rafuh family lore.
