American Food

The availability of Shiner Bock has exploded the last decade or so. You can find it in most US cities now.

Not a fan of chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken for that matter. The breading is usually way too thick and there are loads of better ways to cook meat than that.

This means it was prepared incorrectly... probably deep fried and battered.

the best fried chicken is pan fried in a cast iron skillet, like the chicken fried steak will be if done correctly.

YES! Coated with just enough flour to have little crust on the meat.

while back in Arizona I went to BKs for a Sonoran Dog (the winner of the Food Wars Tucson episode, defeating El Guero Canelo, which has appeared on Man vs. Food, Andrew Zimmern's show and others) and a torito, a grilled, cheese stuff, bacon wrapped chile on the side. Cost about $5 with water. so good.

As Ric Flair would say, "just like that..."

Inevitable:

The non-profit Ohio Pork Council said that demand for frozen pork belly, often made into bacon, has far outpaced supply, USA Today reports. “Today’s pig farmers are setting historic records by producing more pigs than ever. Yet our reserves are still depleting,” said Rich Deaton, the group's president.

With low reserve levels, prices have increased; the cost of pork belly rose by 20% in January, according to the council. Officials said that increased foreign demand might also be responsible, however, as hog farmers export around 26% of their total product according to the group.

Clearly my above post has had a terrific effect on the commodities markets. Feel the power.

I've been living in the States for the last 27 years and am still blown away by the diversity of food served over here. Considering it's the melting pot of people, the food represents it...only thing is, it's so huge that certain areas that they've taken to the people that moved here. I live in the NW where we have lots of Scandinavian families and it's very much 'get er done'

American over here, born and raised in the heartland/midwest. I lived in Minnesota for a couple of years and my favorite food experience over there was definitely the "Juicy Lucy," pictured below:

Cheese is inside the patty which is really a game changer. Dry burger just doesn't exist in this case.

Coming in second is Mesa Pizza's Pesto Chicken Pizza:

I'm sure that it pails in comparison to England, but there is also a place in Minneapolis called The Anchor which has the best fish and chips I've ever had. (I've never been to England, however.)
