American Food

I had to travel for work today and I decided to take a scenic route home. I stopped for lunch at a tiny diner in a small town.

They had a $7 all you can eat buffet full of chicken tenders, smoked pork, fried squash, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, corn, etc.

It was excellent, and I might make the 30 minute drive to nowhere just to eat there again.

Now I need a nap.

I went to a cook out once in Louisina, they cook brisket overnight in these smoker things or whatever they call them.
I never knew and old bit of cheap brisket beef could taste so good.
That drink 'hurricane' in Bourbon street, New Orleans, are pretty good too.

Yes to both!

There is another good bevvie at the Napoleon House, the Pims Cup, that is worth a try.

Those are the best. Try Arden's if you're in my neighborhood. It's Kountry Fresh.

I'm going to LA in November. I'm a greedy cow at the best of times so have embarked on a 4 month strict diet regime so I can do justice to the cuisine when I'm there without coming back looking like I'm about to give birth to triplets!

Where's that place were they have crazy names for the burgers.

I think these are the names of some of them.

The heart attack burger
The triple by pass

Made me smile when I read about it.

Key lime pie in Florida is pretty nice, especially after a 32oz steak.
