Was in NOLA for a few hours and had some great dogs. Didnt take a pick of the chips ("frys" in The U.S.) but they were also outstanding.

Edit. Been trying to upload pics and it hasn't been working for a few days here. Maybe the size is to big but not sure how. Just regular iPhone pics. Man this sucks.

Work acquaintance took me to Easy Tiger on E 6th Street in Austin. I'm sure they sell other stuff as well, but do get the Pastrami when you're there.

Of course, Austin has terrific food, so I can understand if you haven't made it there yet.
