Absolutely teams awful, I’m not criticising I’m just saying he was for a few games last season and didn’t do an awful lot all season had one good game against Arsenal, showed glimpses of talent I think he can be a good player in a few years time, people can mention his age but I’m of the understanding your good enough you’re old enough Rooney was ripping the champions league up at 18/19
Roon dog was a freak. Was also a striker, where being young, brave, fearless, unpredictable is more of an asset. Strikers tend to reach peak younger than midfielders or defenders, where positioning, tactical awareness and so on is a more of a determinant of quality.
Look, I understand why people would want to sell him to reinvest elsewhere in the team - such as with a defender and a goalscorer - but in my opinion I don't think it is realistic to say that it would represent a good strategy this late into the transfer window, nor realistic to say that Onana money reinvested would be guaranteed to secure quality given how saturated the market is currently.
However I don't understand why you would use last season's performances to make the case that he isn't good enough to be worth holding on to, as I think it ignores too much context. I think he'll cook for us this season, but then that again is my opinion.
Will have to wait and see, but I'd be gutted if he left.
