2023/24 Amadou Onana

He is a great tackler, can make great surging runs forward and can split the defense with a killer pass. He isn’t Messi but he doesn’t need to be as a powerful runner with his long stride. Somebody mentioned Yaya and that is a good comparison to work towards. Where he plays in the middle isn’t relevant so much as pairing him with his best partner. Garner is that guy atm. Both can play just about anywhere in the middle because of their skillsets.
Yep, tomorrow let's see, who starts, but they stood out v Villa, both were outstanding.
UTFTs!

Honestly starting to look forward to the day we cash in on this lad. Looks unreal on a highlight video but game to game he’s atrocious. Has all the attributes, big, strong, fast but only tries to play Hollywood balls that never come off and spends most of the game on the ground acting injured.

He’ll be great when he’s 27, not now.

Where does he disappear to?

£70m player last week normal service resumes, no doubt will hear that it’s the players around him or wrong position today.

Only bothers against the top sides or essentially when we are massively underdog...when favourites, he is invisible...not sure if mental or just laziness

If you thought he was poor then youre totally insane.

Out of Garner, Gana, Doucoure and Onana then he consistently is the worst of the 4. I think Gana is poor in possession but no doubting his defensive effectiveness.

Onana offers nothing to this team when there’s any bit of pressure. He reminds me a bit of Barkley where he was only good when we were playing well and 1 or 2 goals up. Onana is worthless in a game he’s expected to win.
