Maybe, but this is a season unlike any other, 3month break in the middle of a season, short end of season break.

We shouldn't judge players too harshly in this period.

But of course as he gets older the minor knocks hes had through his career will take an effect.
You would think the break would help him initially though. Hopefully just unlucky rather than the norm

Really can't wait for this ;little general to be fit, if Gomes can keep his form up, we have the midfield from the start of the season again.

If he's back for Utd, do we go back to 4-3-3 and keep Gomez in midfield?
Tough decision. If he starts that game but breaks down, we then have a real problem for the Cup tie. Of the two games I think the Spurs one is more winnable in the first place and I'd like to see us progress in the Cup. Win or lose against Utd, it's the other 16+ league fixtures we have left that will have a bigger impact on our final position in the table.

I'd be tempted to have him on the bench against Utd with a plan to bring him on for Doucoure around the 60 minute mark - the purpose being to give him 30 mins and to create a rest for Doucoure, allowing both of them to be ready to start against Spurs.

One thing is certain: we have REALLY missed Allan. We can't deploy a 4-3-3 without him and we've been incredibly lucky that Doucoure has stepped up in his absence.
