I bumped into Allan near the Metropolitan Cathedral yesterday. I had been told that his English wasn't great but he actually said "Thank you for all your support. It makes me want to play well." I embarrassed myself with my pigeon Portuguese and then he gracefully posed for a photo with me. Lovely lad.

I just hope people don't turn on him as soon as he makes a misplaced pass. When crowds are back. Not that he'll be doing a lot of that like.

... the opinion of former Napoli defender Massimo Filardi, who says he would not have sold Allan to Everton if he were in charge at the club.

“I can’t explain the sale of Allan. We lost a great footballer for two liras,” he told Tifosi Napoletani, relayed by Area Napoli.

“The Brazilian would have been fundamental for this team also because he is at the height of his competitive maturity.

“He already showed his qualities in Everton’s first Premier League match against Tottenham.

“Napoli, in its current squad, does not have a footballer with the characteristics of Allan. That’s why Gennaro Gattuso risks having no solution in that area of the pitch.

“There are players who have other peculiarities, who are better at setting up the pitch than at not owning it. I repeat: I wouldn’t have given up a footballer like Allan.”

He puts a shift in, and will make most his passes. Fans will be fine with him mistaking a pas here and there.
Grafters always get a lighter load and that’s fair. Don’t forget we have seen a half arsed midfield barring Gana. When Gana misplaced a pass he didnt her dogs abuse throughout a season

Proper footballer this lad. Been a fan of his for years and still can't quite believe how this went under the radar. PSG were knocked back with an 80m bid not long ago.

Two games in and he's already dictating what runs he's expecting people to make and where they should be on the pitch. I said it before we signed him that it's going to be mad to have a midfielder who doesn't panic on the ball and look for the easy pass, never expected the jump in quality to be this big.
