Praying it's only a few weeks. Could really do with him back asap.

Whilst he was stretchered off, he was back on his feet on the touchline and apparently walked out the ground with crutches, so hopefully it's a case of us being super precautious.

The stretcher would've been a precaution, you don't take risks with muscle injuries this time of the year - similarly the crutches. It looked pretty innocuous so with any luck he'll be back in a few weeks.

1 is typically 3-4 weeks
2 6-8 weeks
3 - 12 weeks

Didnt look as bad as a three but likewise didn't look as innocuous as a 1 where you can typically walk off the field.

I would hazard a guess that its a 2 which is still gutting.

Hope we find out soon anyway lads irreplaceable.
Those numbers are just a guide tbh, You can't tell how bad it is from looking mate as everyone's muscle makeup and physiology are slightly different, also it will depend on if Allan has had the injury before or not. Although he went off on a stretcher he got up and walked down the tunnel so hopefully it's not too bad. I see this sort of thing in my job all the time, as my job is to study how the body reacts to things and i have seen people who are good healers come back really quickly and others take months and never get quite 100% again.

Unless you are Fabian Delph- in which EVERY injury is a 8-12 week lay off the dosser.

Some people have the technical skills but their bodies are just not physiologically up to the realms of professional sport. Michael Owen is a good example of this, he was built like a twiglet yet tried to play an aggressive, explosive style of game and his body just could'nt handle it. There has been plenty of times over the years i can remember Delph (especially at Leeds) doing some really good stuff, but anytime he has to break into a sprint he just collapses in a heap. The only way to stop/help a sportsperson with stuff like this is observe and assess the biomechanics of how the person is moving and see if you can modify their technique or motion to prevent further problems. The issue is that by the time you get to this level everything is so set in muscle memory it can be hard to adapt to change for some people.

The one thing it wasn't was a snap/full tear. With that, you fly up in the air and you're out for six months if not longer.

Allan pulled up. You could see him signalling in a kind of 'stretch' motion (like he had a band in his hands).

The hope will be that it's just a bad pull and that he's out for a month.

If there's a partial tear, then we're looking at probably end of Feb before he's back.

Hamstring injuries are usually graded from 1-3, lets hope Allan is in the 1-2 category, if it's a 3 then yes, we could be looking at months out.
Didn’t he suffer an hamstring injury in the league cup tie v WHU? If so I don’t think he was out for too long after that. Mind you one game is too long for a player as valuable as Allan is to the team.

I think it was said to have been a strain but i think the worry is that he really did pull up good and proper last night, let's hope it's not too serious.

The season is just full of injuries isn't it, The euros are gonna be proper rank. He'll be a huge miss but we have to overcome it and keep the train steaming ahead.
