Definitely works harder at it because she's a target for all the lazy gammons. Always been fairly impressed though it is a very low bar she's up against most of the time.
I much prefer listening to the pundits on BT when the CL is on - football journalists who actually know what they're talking about because they'll sit and watch the full 90 minutes of a lot of games every week, research, interview people, know the rules and then write about it in great detail. They generally have a very detailed knowledge about teams, players and managers.
Most ex-pros are too lazy and base their punditry on reputations, tropes and insisting they know more because they're "football people" as if the rules or the ability to spot something is beyond those who haven't played top flight football. A lot of them don't even understand the rules of the game and instead believe their opinion of what should be is more valid than the actual rules when slating a decision. It's astonishing.
McManaman's an example. Wittering on asking what the touchline assistants behind the goal at CL matches do. Because they don't signal to the crowd or make gestures he assumes they do nothing but if he had the slightest understanding or did the most rudimentary of research he'd realise that they are used heavily and assist the ref in making decisions and spotting stuff via mic.

I find it slightly amusing that in this day and age of equal genders, corporations trying to rid sexism, football being a game played by men and women, Darts and F1 banning women being portrayed as eye candy etc etc. The BBC employ the best looking ex- female footballer they can find to be a pundit

Well she's clearly a natural broadcaster with a broad and in-depth knowledge of football and she will have passed screen tests etc before going on camera. Obviously, she's a very good looking lady but I think that's just a bonus rather than an actual pre-requisite for being sought for, then getting the gig

You're not wrong. I used to like the old pundits like Malcolm Allison or Cloughie. They had a bit of style and authority. All football pundits belong in the bin, male or female.
