I just don't understand this. He's not a RB or really a right sided player period so because he's not able to do well there he doesn't have the desire to be good? And beyond that he's at fault for not doing the thing he can't do to a satisfactory level?
It's an extreme example but if we decided Mina was our best option at RW or RB and played him there all season would anyone feel like it was his fault or it was his lack of drive to succeed that caused him not to? Because I feel like that is where we are right now.
I know we aren't supposed to criticize Carlo, and I'm not even saying Iwobi would have worked out otherwise because I really don't know, but he saw him as a right sided player and tried to make him that. It is a failed experiment.
The only position that Iwobi has played well at times in is wide on the right.
I cannot remember when he was last played on the left .
We have seen several players put into positions that would not be their first choice and generally they have done well.
Holgate,Coleman, Godfrey,Digne,Sigurdsson that I can think of have been asked to play different roles and they have generally done well.
If Iwobi is waiting to get a game on merit in his preferred position he will probably be retired first.
Yes, I do think he could do better when asked to play out of position, I think his recent post about playing in his preferred position was I'll advised.
I feel that the chances of him being moved on in the summer have become much greater and maybe Iwobi knows this or nay may even have been told this already.
