Absolute stinker of a signing. Every bit as bad as Bolasie. Really cannot imagine any team in the world looking at him now and thinking "he'd be worth a punt at 20m". No chance at all; we're stuck with him until 2024.

Can’t sit around and say I dislike this fella or I think he’s bad technically he’s just not cut out for the formation or this club
What exactly are those hallmarks? I want to know what to look for in the future.Very peculiar signing - all the hallmarks of a panic buy.

See here's the thing: those have happened for good signings. Are they expensive?
Do they appear to be a bad fit?
Were they signed out of the blue?
Was it late in the window?
Were lots of people left scratching their heads and confused?

Expensive: Richarlison
Do they appear to be a bad fit: Since that's about half our signings at least pre Brands, I'm not sure if this is a sign of panic signings, unless we always were panicking.
Out of the blue: IIRC Bernard took about 48 hours from first report to holding the shirt.
Late in the window: We signed Barry and Rom on the same deadline day
Scratching heads: Gana
Iwobi fits all of those criteria, however, not just one or two.See here's the thing: those have happened for good signings.

My thing is I can follow the logic of his signing. If I can put myself in the management's shoes and see what they were thinking I'm not going to say it was panicking. To me that implies a degree of brainlessness as opposed to just making a mistake. I try to avoid thinking of people that way.Iwobi fits all of those criteria, however, not just one or two.
