Aiden McGeady

BBC Sports take on it...

"The inclusion of Aiden McGeady was mystifying, as proved by the young Spaniard's sensational game-changing display."

Years ago I went to see Celtic v Benfica in a Champions League match, the Celtic fans worshiped him but I just thought if I was playing behind him I would have him by the throat. He ran into blind alleys, lost the ball and never helped cover. The full back got roasted with two men to mark.
He scored and Celtic won 1-0, but he caused them all sorts of bother.

The signing of mcgeady, Kone and niasse was questioned by many supporters on here, before they had even played a game for us. Sadly only Martinez deemed all 3 to be worthy of signing for EFC. He has gone, but sadly we are left with trying to get rid of these players who are on fantastic wages, that nobody wants.

We arent going to be able to shift the pie-arse until his contract ends because noone can afford the 50k that we decided it was a good idea to pay him. Best we can hope for is a loan and hopefully some Chinese club decides he is the missing piece of their jigsaw in January. Same thing with Niasse and Kone. Get them out on loan still paying a portion of the wages and just hope that the magic of the you-tube hightlights reel does its magic in China or the Indian Superleague.

Do you think if someone at the clubs marketing department made up a you tube vid of Russias player of the season for Niasse and one for McGeady a few years ago and a video for Ivory Coast Legend Arouna Kone we could hoodwink anyone? Surely if we fell for it someone else could too?!!

This is a great idea. A McGeady video with all his tricks and skills and that quote from Messi about how good he is (when Barca played Celtic), to exciting music and a "coached" interview where Aids talks about his desire to win the Balon d'or.
Pity Allardyce and Redknapp aren't managing clubs - they would both be all over Aids! lol
