Walking down Walton Road after the match on Saturday, I overheard plenty of conversations, most of which seemed to focus on just how bad Villa were. The best one, though, was hearing some bloke say "The thing is, McGeady is a more skilful player than Deulofeu, he's just not consistent enough".

Aye he's the better player. But he's no longer a starter and has shown no sign that he's an effective impact sub. Has he ever scored or assisted for us off the bench?

McGeady would've offered no less than Kev has this year if he'd had the same minutes. If we can get more money for Kev than McGeady to throw on the Yarm pile then it's bye bye Mirallas.

This season no, but his performance at the weekend was encouraging.

However Kev has in the past made several impactful sub appearances, away at West Ham in the FA cup being probably the most recent when his goal and assist helped get us to the penalities that we narrowly lost.

Its called the Eveton Way. Last two games been good wins, cant really have a moan about those who played so focus is moved to those who didn't, Gosling and Distin will take some of the abuse away from those who are still here next Saturday.
