Well if the club insist on bringing in absolute poo or rewarding absolute poo with new contracts then there will continue to be a long line of whipping boys.

McGeady, Hibbert, Osman, Alcaraz. Cleverley is my personal favourite for this season's whipping boy.

Nah The Clev is going to surprise a lot of people this coming season, the lad is classy and will fit right in to our style.

McGeady and Kone on the other hand? *polishes pitchfork

Hibbert has become a whipping boy for the fact he is paid handsomely and never plays. It is scanderlous that he was offered a new contract last summer on a 2 year deal when injuries have really hampered the lad.

Well said.

I must admit that we've seen better wingers than him though, although to berate him is quite unsavoury - he's not done wrong, aside from being paid well to be a little bit pants.

He frustrates me - he does a really complicated thing then passes to the opposition. Perhaps he's tried too hard?

Maybe he lacks the mental strength to consistently produce his best form, because when he does produce it he is superb.

It might help a bit if people got off his back and actually supported him. It must affect your performance as a player if you know that your next mistake will be met with howls of derision. I suppose some handle it better than others, and this seems to be his problem.

I think this a LOT about the whole team. Football is 10% ability and 90% confidence at this level. Supporters are there to support - and derision erodes confidence, no matter how tough the mentality.

This booing your own players became (understandably) more common once they started being paid a ridiculous amount to be footballer. This I can understand.

Let's make football an amateur game again and boot out the boo boys!
