"Everton's Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta should be playing at one of the top four clubs in the Barclays Premier League, according to his agent.

Arteta has been a key figure again for the Toffees this season, but agent Inaki Ibanez believes that he is wasted at Goodison Park.


MIKEL ARTETA "He is one of Everton's shining stars and one of the highest rated players in the Premier League," Ibanez said.

"Mikel Arteta deserves better. Let me explain you why. If he was playing for one of the best four clubs in England or Spain he would be an international under Luis Aragones. I am not exaggerating anything."

Arteta began his career at Barcelona, but left as a youngster without making a first team appearance, joining Rangers in 2002 and after a spell at Real Sociedad he returned to Britain with Everton in 2005.

Last year he admitted that he would like to end his career with Atletico Madrid: "Some day I will end up at Atletico. It is a club that I have always liked and where I would like to play.

"In football, projects finish and start when one least expects it. As well as that, in my life everything has always gone very quickly."

Deserves better???

If I was Arteta I would sack his Agent right away, Arteta is a good player but did he make it to national side when he was in Spain or in Ranger, he only ever got to U21 side but never Senior side.

We are the one who brought out the best of Arteta, we are the one bring his career back online and we love Arteta here, we do not want our most respected player to have such a Agent he honest deserve a better one!
 
Me thinks Mr. Agent isn't looking out for his client and just wants a big $$$ 15% transfer fee payday before Arteta is too old to get one.

I actually think Arteta might go say a year after Xabi Alonso (who's rumored to hate Onion man) goes.

I know, most of them are like this but there job is suppose to find a place if the player was not happy, but most of them don't see it this way and that's why i hate them.
 
Not to fussed really if he goes. Hes had some what of a shocker this season by his standards. Might be worth while to cash in?????

Please dont shoot me everyone. I know hes the "best little Spaniard we know"
But, its just not really happened for him this season. The 10m or so we could get will be rather handy with the 20-25m we will be looking to get in the summer.

I agree with you actually.
 

If we sold him for say 15M do you think there is a player out there that can do what he does for us at the same price? Plus his wages aren't extreme and he wont get knacked playing for Spain anytime soon.
