Right about one thing. She was elected the year I was born. If 30 years isn't long enough to get over it I don't know how long is.
There are many people in public life I'm not a fan of but would not stoop to wishing anyone ill health.
As I said, I'm not old enough to have lived through the Thatcher years with any understanding of them. I've read Hayek and other philosophers that influenced her thoughts and agree with a great many of them, especially on economic policy.
Anyone that encourages people to take responsibility for their own lives is good with me. This place is overwhelmingly Labour and I appreciate that I'm very much in the minority with my views. I can handle that. Believe it or not I don't have a poster of the old girl above my bed, and to be honest she comes across as batty as hell in most of her tv appearances from that era, but what she said rather than the way she said it I can relate to. Nowadays it is the opposite. We're encouraged by politicians to ignore what they say in favour of the way they say it.
Anyway, this place is 100% banter isn't it. It's an online forum. Sticks and stones and all that. As Shankley said. GOT isn't a matter of life and death.
