Afcon Trophy awarded to Morocco!?!

"But the kid is not my son"

It means that Keane - who was slapped and left to be 'dignified in the face of adversity' in front of a global audience - must be laughing up his sleeve at his attacker getting a trophy taken off him.

I know I would.
But they kissed and made up after the United game, didn’t they, Dave?

I don’t think Keane would be one to harbour any petty feelings of resentment?

Quite a vindictive view of the world mate. Who hasn't had an unnecessary moment of heat with one of their good mates before and either apologised or forgave afterwards. No one got hurt, let it go.

I'm not saying their sworn enemies or hate each other; but it's only natural you'd have a laugh at the expense of someone who'd done that. 🤷‍♂️

The referee's decision is final.

That is the sentence that ensures we have this sport.

Once you change that, it's finished. Even with VAR - as corrosive as that is - it is still a team of referees advising the referee who then takes their recommendation or not. The ref's decision is final. When he allowed that match to restart, he then had to see it through. He did and, to the horror no doubt of himself and the kleptocrats who run African football, Morocco missed their penalty and Senegal took full advantage.

Once you start overturning matches, it's over. This is beyond even ordering a re-match, which is draconian in its own right.

Senegal - and Morocco - know who won that night. It might not have been pretty, but both teams played on after the temporary chaos. Natural justice dictates Senegal won.
Agreed, 100%.

Not only are we talking about overturning a match here, we're talking about overturning a tournament.

It's just miles beyond the pale.
So once this decision is officially ratified, all integrity, fairness and incorruptibility in African football is deemed to be deceased?

Then I guess it's only fitting we give it a fitting African funeral to go along with this farce of a decision 🙄:

Crazy if true!
Raymond Hack, former president of the CAF Disciplinary Board, has claimed that the Morocco national team staged a walkout in the final of the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which the country eventually won.

Hack, who served in numerous roles across CAF’s legal body, made the claim in a chat with Robert Marawa on Wednesday.
