Moist rates him lad, number 8 innit.

I kind of sympathise with him in one respect because if our midfield 5 is going to be Fellaini, Osman and Gibson with Naismith and Pienaar on the wings then Jack and Ross will struggle to get into that. And if we buy a proper right winger it will even be worse.

But that argument only works if they're the actual first subsitutes but instead when Gibson goes off injured, we play Phil Neville there instead. And we start big vic and jimmy mcfadden rather than actual midfielders.

I'm english and I'm scouse which means I'm biased in favour of english and scouse lads but we're ruining Rodwell and Barkley and that's fecking criminal.

Maybe Rodwell and Barkley aren't good enough yet. Perhaps we should be patient. Play them when they're ready. I've seen both turn in some pretty rubbish performances. I can't see that we're ruining them by not playing them just because they are young.

Its too early to say whether Barkley will make it or progress, but Rodwell has played enough first team games to make a judgement, and he hasnt moved forward at all, wouldnt mind seeing the back of him if it meant we could improve elsewhere.

How many promising players must burst onto the scene, not get regular games and ultimately not make it before we start questioning the coaching and whether we're treating our young prospects properly?

is right. sadly at the moment i don't see how rodwell can fit into our plans, gibson and fellaini are both very young and very good in their positions and i dont see rodwell as a far forward midfielder. sadly his only chance will come if felli goes, something i'd hate to see, would be nice if rodwell at leats got a chance to prove himself, can be one hell of a fill in for one of those two. no doubt even if he did fill in well for one, he'll still be shunned back to the bench. this shouldn't be the case for barkley though, he has no massive competition for that advanced role, possibly osman

...ah what's the point, i hope this is moyes' last year, thanks for the memories, but still

I understand that. But how are we ruining him by not playing him? If he is not up to the mark then I agree he should be shipped out. But my question was really directed to the statement that we're runing him and Barkley 'and that's fecking criminal'. I just don't understand how. If they are good enough they will paly. If not, then why play them just because they are young.
Personally I hope both make it with us but I don't see that waiting until they are ready is damagining them,
