Whenever have we paid £9m for a player who's "one for the future"?

I make no conclusions about the player (been ok, just that), but if you pay that money for a player you better start playing him. This isn't City and we don't have £200m to spend on players.

I think after a positive start he's been found out.
Unfair IMO he has been fast tracked into professional football and is still a kid. Give him a chance mate he will come good the ability is there.
I would give him all of next season as well before judging him properly.

Bang on. He was playing park football not so many years ago. Has a natural talent but is raw.
End of next season would be a little too early to judge too IMO as it's a hell of a step change to PL

Came into the game when we were struggling and didn't do a lot wrong. However, I wish koeman had given him more game time off the bench in recent weeks at goodison, when we had been scoring for fun and 'safe' in games.

When the going rate for an average player is £10m, to spend the same on one for the future isn't really that much. Schlupp cost Palace £12m, would you rather him?
