Ademola Lookman

Whether he gets to Hazards level is open to question, however he does look like he is in that mould.

What I really like for Everton though, is we have a manager now who will expect and demand they reach the highest levels. Moyes was probably a bit hard and too cautious, while Martinez probably too soft.

..I think it also reflects how the DoF role is working. SW and RK agree the 'type' of footballers they need to fit the Koeman team model, SW then goes and finds them. Koeman wants Lookman to "work between the lines" in much the same way Hazzard does.

I'm not for one minute suggesting Lookman will reach Hazzard's level but watching his goal again this morning reminded me that we have to unearth that quality in the top third to truly bridge the gap to the next level.

He was getting into some great positions yesterday, but nobody played the killer ball to him. He looks really good. He's got that low centre of gravity thing going on, the utter menace.

Looks a great signing so far. Lively style, has the skills, wants the ball, works to fit into a role the manager asks him to (hinting at a good football brain).
Was saying at the game yesterday that he doesn't look like a kid who's just stepped up two divisions - he's slotted right in, and it seems the team have taken to him and see him as one of them. Hope he just gets better and better!

You know if he was playing for City, Utd or RS the papers would have backpages dedicated to every single touch he makes.

Won't be long before the press simultaneously knock him as not good enough but also call for him to move onto City/United for the good of his career. We've seen the exact same thing with Stones and Barkley. When Barkley plays well you hear nothing from the press, if he has a bad game they're on him like a rash.

Lost his man for their second, if I remember correctly, so good decision to hook him. He'll learn that side of the game though. On the ball he looks excellent, dead positive, good shot, travels with the ball. Got mad skillz too.

Could be the first gem Walsh has uncovered for us.
