How well did he take his goal by the way? That wasn't an easy ball to control, but that little cushion with the outside of the foot set him up perfectly. Really underappreciated skill that, imagine where that ball would have ended up if it fell to Oumar Niasse instead.

not taking anything away from him, but their keeper's legs were open wider than the mersey tunnel, a delightfull sight for any striker!

Saw some comments from him in an interview with the S*n - not sure if it's from the weekend or previously.

Just a kid and only just arrived so not blaming him for it - but hopefully someone will tell him that needs knocking on the head.

Fantastic start for him yesterday.

Tbf, he probably hasn't a clue what's going on, he seems a quiet young fella who is getting guidance elsewhere

he was caning bongs and laughing gas in a back street in twickenham about 4 weeks ago and now he's scoring late goals against £100m defences managed by pep guardiola...

safe to say his world has been turned upside down, must feel like he's in a trip off the bong!

He's still got a lot of development to do , which is exciting. It's a difficult one , in some ways he would benefit from the training regimes our Academy/U23s do , e.g. constantly practising shooting with both feet , positioning without the ball etc. However he's a first team squad player and on the other hand will benefit from the likes of Lukaku, Mirralas etc. I'm not to worried about his size, he's never going to be able to hold people off like Rom but he's got the speed and control to get away from defenders. There's much more protection for attackers these days , hit him hard and late and he won't ride it and stumble like Rom, he'll go shooting up in the air making a penalty more likely. ( Something I learned from my playing days as a 9 stone midfielder, regularly knocked into the air, you just need to "fall ugly" , non of this arm s outstretched diving, nailed on penalty if in the box !)

What a lad, made up when it fell to him and he finished it brilliantly, also loved the fact he made the gamble to get into that position.

Agree, when he came on I couldn't believe how tiny he looked out there, size wise he looked lost. Saying that though, he had already played 45 times for Charlton.
45 games for Charlton is way ahead of most of what our U23's will have played, also as a tricky dribbler type player (at least on youtube anyway) means he will have been kicked all over the place in that league, which will only benefit him coming into the PL.
