Ademola Lookman

Revisionist history. Stones turned in his first transfer request at the start of Roberto's last season, he was never staying no matter who got hired. And they didn't chase Lukaku away, more likely Moshiri got us an extra year. If they hadn't been telling him "nothing will ever be the same" then he would have left when Stones did. Del was a Barca buy-back, which in retrospect it seems like they were going to exercise no matter what. You maybe have a point with Barkley, but the jury is still out on whether or not that was a mistake.
We replaced Stones with Williams. Brute negligence.

Lukaku was sold with no replacement, fortunately Niasse emerged and Tosun was purchased. Brute negligence.

Delefeou was barely sighted in the first team and loaned to Milan. And we had option to buy back first. Perhaps was the easiest to keep of all 4. Brute negligence.

Barkley was a dime. Rare, hard to find midfielder who took his vengeance out by snaking the club of 25m because Koeman wanted to seem tough in front of the media.

Look forward to booing Barkley when I watch Perth v Chelsea tonight.

Nice one - I'd value those fans opinions more than rather than the other posters who think Lookman is the best thing since sliced bread just because.

I wouldn't find it that amazing that football fans watch football. Perhaps you might?

No far from it, you seemed amazed Everton fans had actually watched him play

Another one to add to the Koeman/Walsh list of chased out of the club/pointlessly sold after Lukaku, Barkley, Stones, Delefeou.

Fortunately they failed with Niasse.

Lukaku, Stones and Barkley wanted to go.
Del signed for Watford said it all. They were not chased out of the club they want out.

There does seem to be a continuing and underlying narrative about him being unsettled / not happy / having a bad attitude.

All he has to do is to come out publicly and say he wants to stay, new manager, style of play that suits etc.

He hasn’t done that at any point.

I hate to say it, but I think if Leipzig meet our valuation then he’s off.

I know! Why can't he just come out and say something. He's also testing out Silva and Brands ..can't believe these players now. Even if he wants to go to a big London club in the future, why can't he just prove himself for 3/4 years and then go? He'll only be 24 or something.

It's all a bit odd tbh, it's been non stop ever since he got here.

mad how some people can't accept that
stones point blank handed in a request, like he done the year before
lukaku talked about leaving from the moment he signed, also wanted out
barkley was a filthy rat and even rejected a summer move just so he could line his pockets in the winter

Think he's as good as gone!

A very reliable source told me at the start of last season that he hadn't settled and was a 'difficult' character. Everton rate him 'on the pitch' but the are other issues in play here!

Common knowledge he hasn't settled off the pitch. Think Marco will sort him out and hel ne a starter for Wolves

Calling absolute BS on that, the kids as timid as it gets.

Disagree mate - he's a serial sulker.

I've said for months on here he wants off.

Remember, he dug his heels in over Leipzig rather than Derby who the clubs management wanted him to go to, and he's digging his heels in again. He wants to leave, Leipzig knows it - hence the low bids and repeated public comments.

Hopefully a run of games and renewed atmosphere around the club will change his mind but currently, he wants off.

Silva recently talking up the importance of camaraderie and Lookman being "injured" - not hard to read between the lines.

That’s not sulking, it’s doing what’s best for your career. He was proven correct as well in going to Leipzig, his stock is now far higher than if he’d have gone to Derby.

Where is the evidence of sulking and bad attitude ? Wanting to leave a football club isn’t evidence of either of these things.

In fairness, he hasn't come out and said anything at all. Most of it is coming from the RBL manager. I do think he'll go if they meet our vluation. I just hope that valuation is not too low.

And in his own mind, he's doing that now mate.

The point being, if he was "as timid as it gets" - he wouldn't have forced the issue in January;

I think that it’s one of the most unusual situations I’ve been in. We’ve got some deals but he’s adamant he chooses Germany, it was his choice. So we let him go where he wanted to.

“For me, Oliver Burke went there and couldn’t wait to get back. Going there and not being able to speak the language at such a young age and on your own is a massive challenge.

We tried to persuade him not to because I think that’s a big challenge for his development. We wanted him to go out on loan in the hope he will play first-team football every week.

Whether right or wrong, the club wanted him to go to Derby, he dug his heels in. That's not timid, that's ballsy.

I'm not having he's injured.

He was left on the bench vs Bury - Silva said it was ‘small problem’. Walcott also had a small problem/injury, he wasn't in the squad. Either was Bolasie. You dont put injured players on the bench in pre-season.

Since then, despite on the bench with a "small problem" Lookman didn't even travel to Portugal and yesterday, Silva is talking up the significance of camaraderie and "everything will start in our dressing room": http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2018/07/22/marco-silva-exclusive

In my view, unless Lookman has a dramatic change of heart, Everton will sell him, and there will be comments of not wanting to keep an unhappy player.

Calling absolute BS on that, the kids as timid as it gets and comes across as the polar opposite of being “difficult” in his interviews.
This is what I heard nearly a year ago... when I was talking him up with someone with some inside knowledge of the club. I was saying how much I rated him and my high hopes for his Everton future but he didn't share my confidence. I think the main problem was that he hadn't really settled and was apparently home sick... but the are other issues! I think he has an 'ego', an attitude more appropriate to a 'star' player rather than exciting raw talent.
