As I said previously this is a watershed moment, if he is sold it basically spells out the players have no faith in the owner, chairman, board and management to lead us to any form of future success.

Ridiculous comment. Bundesliga is very high quality and RBL were in the Champions League last year and Europa this year. Allardyce treated him like s**t last year and so he took a good loan move. If he decides to leave (which it purely paper talk at this stage) then the blame sits at one gravy soaked pair of feet

Or the reverse of that, the administration is more concerned with running the club as a business. where that intersects with the playing staff in a positive way then all well and good but there will also be occasions when it intersects negatively. This may be just such a case. The business says trim the squad and wage bill and lookman has a 20M offer out there - no brainer...
I'm not supporting the approach at all, but I can see the motivation. We are run by accountants ya know.

Hope he stays, really hope he stays. An exciting young English talent should play for an English club until he's earned his wings and is old enough to realise what's best.

If he goes though, wexll replace him as we always do, with someone else - perhaps someone who doesn't give the ball away so much like he does at the moment.

The only thing in my mind is, for the price, why is no other club in for him?

Not saying he won't be good but usually a player his age, with the spposed potential, for the relatively low fee would have all of the top clubs in for him.

Lookman is going unfortunately, we’re just angling for a decent fee. The money might allow us to bring either a LB or a CB. With our current owner I doubt the money would be reinvested.
