I hope he realizes this is the best chance he has to show he has the ability to play top-flight football. Even it wants to leave, this is his chance to show his class. If he can't be arsed to get after it, not only does it hurt Everton - the potential value of the clubs asset - he may limit his potential suitors if that's his goal. I hope he gets that and goes out determined.

The German Quarter is a culturally vibrant, cosmopolitan section of Wandsworth. I imagine the great times Sulky has enjoyed there has only exacerbated his homesickness. I like your idea about buying him some lederhosen. Perhaps all the team should wear similar... and feign German accents at training.
Yes, it might sound a little contrived but if the whole playing and management team give buy-in to the concept, it might just put a smile on his dial. I know it would mine...

They could also take the whole team to watch Mel Brooks - Springtime for Hitler as part of the bonding process too.

Followed by the Fawlty Towers classic - The Germans.

That would help no end.

Once hes on the pitch you should get behind him?

Of course people should get behind when he is playing on the pitch...
But he needs to stop sulking & convey better body language & remember he has a contract at Everton atm so until that changes wear the blue with pride & perform to his best....

Is Ademola still sulking?

It all stems from Ronkoe not playing him after he scored on his debut.

Or did Ronkoe no something we didn’t at the time?

sounded like it was from the get go, rumours of sulking and homesickness from the very start if I recall

maybe that's it, maybe its nothing to do with feeling loved, wanted, etc etc, maybe he is just a little entitled blert, simplest answer is often the right one and all that jazz

Begs the question, why did he sign for us in the first place. No one forced him, as far as we know.

In his defense, he was signed in January 2016 under a regime in the EPL (2 division higher than he was) that obviously wanted him and had a place for him. He played 8 times before the end of the year. Then early the next season that manager was sacked, a caretaker brought in for a few, then a new manager who clearly didn't rate him and wanted to push him back down a division. He only got 7 games from August to January. And we know the rest.

If you think about it, his move to RBL was similar to him move to Everton. January move to a team and manager that wanted him, technically up a division (instead of going down to Championship), and he got 11 games with 5 goals. Now we have a new manager, who says he values him highly, but until the season started, he wouldn't really know - vs a manager he KNEW wanted him and wanted on the pitch.

In his defense, that is a whirlwind for a 19-20 year old kid, who has only been a professional for a couple years. Who knows what went on in training, behind the scenes. No clue what his upbringing was, how mature he is for his age, and what kind of support system he has, and if the people whispering in his ear actually have his best interest at heart.

So even though I can sympathize with him in one regard, at the end of the day he is a professional being well compensated to do a job, and he needs to be mature, step up and do what he signed up to do. And I really really hope he does. I like him, and want him to be one of my favorite players
