2025/26 Adam Aznou

Thing I never understand with players who come in and aren’t physically up for it, especially academy kids, is how slow we seem to build their bodies up. Gordon showed it’s quite possibly in basically one summer to bulk up.
Everyone has different body genetics and not all kids are Anichebe but AG still looks skinny to me

Came on for an injured Mykolenko early and was hardly 'available' for that given he'd been with us for about 2 weeks.

Meant NOTHING.
I think he should get time don't get me wrong but playing him left back today when he will likely have the dynamic McNeil ahead of him and very little quality through the rest of the side I'd worry it would be used to "prove" he's not good enough

I agree, you'd have thought, of all the things for club staff to improve on for a given player, increasing physicality and fitness would be the most straightforward and controllable.

That's not illuminating. Why is it nonsense?

Hels a player who came from Barcelona and then hels forced to play with kids right out of school many of them.

Imagine trying to make a silk purse out of that sows ear.
Sandro came through with Barcelona. It doesn't mean much.

He may turn out good, lets hope he does, but he is 19, played less than 15 top flight games, many of which were at a historically bad Valladolid team.

He may get a run out sooner or later but if he doesn't I wouldn't worry about it too much as again he may just not be ready yet.

I'd like to see him play a game or two before accepting that dinosaur's opinion.

Like most academies, there are successes and flops, La Masia generally get it right though. Did Aznou come via that route or not ?

Crap at passing too unfortunately

This is the opinion of him from summer '24 from someone who's now a first team scout at Como so definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to talent ID

I genuinely have no idea if he's ready for Prem stuff right now but I do think it's extremely likely he's a high-level LB at some point in his future, I just hope it's with us

With all due respect mate that assist was in basically a training game in front of a mini bus and a fella standing there with his dog on a lead.
Its a world apart from that and stepping into one of the most demanding leagues around.
