But the squad needs to be significantly stronger and we need to be playing well in these matches by the start of August. The 2 or 3 friendlies before week 1 are extremely important.

Bad pre seasons are a big reason why we have had a number of very bad starts recently.

These first few games of pre season are always a tough watch, makes it even more laughable the club charge for them. Blackburn will probably beat us Saturday too.

Just hope we’re in much better nick for that Roma game.
