Got the run around today like the rest of our midfielders. Going forward we need to look at his role in the team. At the moment it seems like we want him to be a box to box midfielder enforcer but I´ve not seen much that says he can do that.

I´m a bit curious as to the absolute lack of the forward runs and shots/goals we saw when he was a playing for Watford. Surely we´re not intending for him and Allan to both the entirely defensive?

To me the role him and Allan have been asked to do seems to have changed match to match and I'm not a fan. I always thought it would be Allan holding, Gomes controlling and Doucoure box-to-box like the Spurs game but since then they've all dabbled in each other's roles and it hasn't worked.

This was what Allan did vs Spurs and it was great. We've used the same midfield 3 most matches when fit and they've looked to have different tasks every time.
