I think the fans do, I found that whole thing with the snakes hilarious. You can't begrudge anyone driving a hard bargain when selling players, I wish we did it more. We probably haven't got a great price for a player since we sold Stones for £50m, I still think we should have got a bit more for Lukaku

I do think we have burned bridges with them on Marco to be fair. If Gordon does anything to repair that a bit, then it could be a win win. I don’t think Tony should go if he isn’t on board with it though. Have to do right by the player as he knows he can get some game time here too.

Watford will be one of the better teams in the Championship next season even after they lose a few players. If Gordon is to leave on loan (which i don't want) then i would rather it was with a team with a forward, game winning mentality rather than relegation fodder. Plus we would get to see if he could still do it on a cold wet night in Stoke.

Don’t see the benefit myself. I wouldn’t play him centrally anyway and we only have Bernard, Walcott and Iwobi in them wide positions. I think he’ll get plenty of game time here, especially as carlo doesn’t seem to like Bernard.

I think we will have to see what formation Carlo goes for, but if we are signing 3 new midfielders Allan, James and Doucoure I expect them to start, be that in a 3, 4 or 5. Plus we are still being linked with Rafinha and Zaha and we have Gomes, Walcott and Iwobi

I think as a player, if the manager is prepared to let you go on loan, you have to consider it. Because it means your on the periphery of his plans, you can always stay and try to change his mind, but you might not play very much

I just hope if it happens they would be on the same page. Gordon (to me anyways) is good enough to get time with the current crop. Whether time on loan or time under Carlo is more beneficial, that is for them to work out.

If the reports are correct it would appear a sort of impasse has been reached.
In order to back our manager we must provide him with Doucouré . In our favour the player wishes to sign for us , against our favour the owners of this club almost certainly bear us some level of antipathy. They would prefer to sell the player to another club but the player is insistent on going to Everton.
Watford don’t have to sell but this risk having an unhappy and rapidly devaluing player.
So the solution is for us to sacrifice a young player, and of Branthwaite and Gordon it is Gordon who we could spare most.
I doubt this was the intention of the management at the outset but it is probably the only way this deal gets done.
Personally I would prefer we walked away and sourced another player who meets the managers requirements. Doucouré isn’t worth losing control of either player for a season.

You could be right, I would be happy with that, but I wouldnt rule out anything at this stage.

I think James will play right side tucking in a 433.

I wouldn't mind loaning out Gordon and Brathwaite if we had a clause where we could arrange an option to bring them back if needed after an agreed
period of months.

And I think it's risky to quibble about 5 or even 10 million. for anyone when you look at transfer fees these days. We have to get these new players in.
